What is DataFusr?
DataFusr is a framework for digital collaboration created by Haskoning. It provides the infrastructure to exchange data in real-time between different software packages, enabling seamless collaboration between multiple design and engineering disciplines on a project.

Excellent designs are created in an iterative process in which multiple disciplines and organizations seamlessly collaborate to achieve the maximum result. The DataFusr team aims to facilitate all the digital infrastructure required to make this happen.
The central concept on which DataFusr depends is the Stream — a package of data in JSON format that can be easily sent over the internet. The data in this stream is formatted in a generic and extendable open standard. DataFusr takes care of serializing and deserializing this data so that your software can understand it immediately.

How it works
DataFusr is built around Speckle, an open-source platform for the exchange of 3D data. Haskoning uses a proprietary Speckle server to exchange data in projects.
On top of Speckle, each discipline develops their own tooling — facilitating the exchange of domain-specific models between the software packages used by that domain. This tooling is tailored to Haskoning workflows and developed by domain-specific Hackathon teams.

Step 1: Install the DataFusr Manager
The DataFusr Manager is your starting point. It lets you install and manage all Haskoning tooling for computational design on your local system — including discipline plugins and updates.
Step 2: Set up Speckle
Speckle is the core data exchange platform. Access the Haskoning Speckle server and sign in with your Haskoning account. Speckle connectors for your software can be downloaded from the server page.
Step 3: Pick your discipline
Choose your discipline to get domain-specific tooling:

Team and capabilities
DataFusr integrates with the software designers and engineers use to work on a project. By means of the different discipline tools, data can be streamed to and from various software packages. This enables an integrated computational design workflow for your project. To fully leverage the benefits of DataFusr, it is important the team members in your project have the necessary skills.
